Dental Implant

Why we get a dental implant?

The placement of dental implants can be offered to patients from whom one or more teeth have been extracted. The reason is not only aesthetic :

Dental Implant
  1. The dental implant makes it possible to regain comfortable chewing capacities. This also prevents the adjacent teeth from compensating by raising themselves up, for example.
  2. The dental implant is an artificial root, conventionally made of Titanium, which replaces a natural root already extracted or compromised by trauma infection or periodental disease. “the implant is placed in the jawbone, which implies having enough bones.”

How is the placement of a dental implant?

The duration of the operation varies according to the complexity of the operation(number and location of implants, volume of bone available, etc.)

The installation is carried out in the OR or in a room dedicated to this functioning the dental Office. After performing local anesthesia, the practitioner incises the gum. He digs the implant seat into the jowbone with a bur, places the implant, and makes two stitches. For two to four months, depending on the location, the wound heals and the bone reforms around the implant: this is osseointegration. It’s only after this step that the artificial tooth is fixed on the implant. For aesthetic or functional reasons,he can place a temporary prosthesis.

These recommendations apply to impacted teeth surgery, maxillary and mandibular implant surgery, and other intraoral surgeries:
